First the bad: Oh dear the proofreading
By Atticus
UPDATE: After finding out that the book had been through a few more rounds of proofreading, I decided to take a gander at it again. The glaring errors are now gone, and the whole thing flows beautifully now. A Prison of Worlds has become the wonderful book it aspired to be.
I REALLY wanted to give this book a 5 star rating but just couldn't and let me tell you why.
First the bad: Oh dear the proofreading. For the majority of the book there are few homonyms and there vs they're mistakes, however I encountered over a dozen if not two or even three places where words were either omitted or not removed when they were replaced. Too often I had to struggle to piece together how the sentence should have been which completely ruined the flow for me.
Phew now that that's out of the way, let's get to the good.
Now the Good: I am generally not a big fan of urban fantasy novels because I prefer more action than the typical one provides, however I do occasionally partake in series like The Hellequin Chronicles and The Dresden Files. A Prison of Worlds is set in an urban setting, but it is pretty much all fantasy. The story follows a dragon trapped in a human body and stranded in a low-magic universe that is roughly what our own world would look like in 2090 if vampires and shifters came out and became accepted by society.
A Prison of Worlds is obviously a set up for what promises to be an epic series, but it does not end with a cliff hanger, but rather a satisfying ending that promises a world of opportunity.
It has everything I want in a book. Epic fights (even though the final showdown was a bit shorter than I would have liked), interesting characters, a new world to explore and of course humor. This book was chock full of hilarious situations often making me snicker or laugh out loud on the bus (Trust me, it's a lot more embarrassing than it seems).
So all in all I really liked A Prison of Worlds and cannot wait for the sequel. The only issue I had was the prevalence of errors that a few more proofreadings could have fixed. 4.5 stars from me.

Very entertaining read
By C. Gold
After five revisions the book still has a chunk of repeated text, missing words, wrong words, and missing apostrophes, however the writing itself flows smoothly. So much so that I was able to ignore most of the mistakes and stay immersed in the story.
The story itself is very entertaining. The characters have different personalities and enough depth to provide no small amount of humor when they interact with other very different people/vampires/shifters/etc. The author also spent a lot of thought on world building and the magic systems which added to the enjoyment. The fights were perhaps a tad too short but I liked how the main character used his intelligence to work around imposed limitations.
If you enjoy humorous urban fantasy, give this book a try.

Don't judge a book by its cover !!! Diamond in the rough!!
By Lawrence J.
First off I was a bit sceptical about this book when I saw the cover and read the description but I still purchased the book on my kindle. This book combines fantasy and the supernatural genre's together seamlessly and its is a win. It's about a young dragon from a dimension where science and magic coexist who is the sole survivor of a raid on an elder dragon`s nest . The elder dragon spares his life but traps him in a different dimension in a human's body unable to shift back . This begins his adventures in this new world where science is about 50 years more advanced and magic is not commonplace. In this world shifters and vampires have recently come out of the woodwork and have been given citizenship. The author did a great job in creating this world and making the characters believable and relatable . This series promises to be a new addition to my favorites of all time . Pay no attention to the cover I guarantee you it hides a gem of a good read.
